I'm currently working on a PhD on the politics of birth and birth activism in the Republic of Ireland. The sources you list are very helpful and I was so happy to come across this blog! Also, there are 3 additional sources I wanted to add that I have found really interesting and helpful -
(1) Katherine Beckett: Choosing Cesarean: Feminism and the Politics of Childbirth in the US http://fty.sagepub.com/content/6/3/251.short ;
(2) Brief article by Juniper Russo Tarascio on Feminist Perspectives of Natural Childbirth (http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/1375139/feminist_perspectives_on_natural_childbirth.html?cat=52) ;
(3) Article by Christine Morton "Situating Doulas within Feminist Analyses of Childbirth accessible here: http://www.allacademic.com/meta/p109416_index.html.

Thanks again for posting this info - It's been really helpful!Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11636584795558371724noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5132953033183671060.post-32681369997267328442009-10-31T17:00:20.416-05:002009-10-31T17:00:20.416-05:00Thank you for your thoughts about birth, breastfee...Thank you for your thoughts about birth, breastfeeding and feminism. The ironic thing is that there really should be no contoversy about anything concerning feminism and childbirth. By its very nature, having a baby is the most feminine thing a women can do. The second most feminine thing a women can do is choose for herself as a mother how she will give birth as well as how she will feed her child.Bobbyhttp://naturalbabypros.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5132953033183671060.post-56363408208203569202009-10-31T09:30:11.941-05:002009-10-31T09:30:11.941-05:00You bet.
